Welcome Coach Garrett Frey!

OMP Wrestling Club would like to formally introduce Coach Garrett Frey as the newest member of our coaching staff.

Coach Garrett has been has been a familiar face at OMP Etna and Evans City the past year. His knowledge and connection with the kids has been an amazing addition to the club. We are excited to have Coach Frey take a on a more prominent role at OMP Wrestling Club.

Here is a short bio on Coach Garrett and his many, many accomplishments as a wrestler and as an outstanding man. 


Garrett Frey brings decades of wrestling experience as both an athlete and a coach to OMP Wrestling Club. Garrett graduated from Princeton University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. While at Princeton, Garrett was a three-year Captain of the Varsity Wrestling Team, the seventh Princeton wrestler to reach the Division 1 NCAA Championships three times, a two-time EIWA Conference finalist and three-time place winner, a FILA Junior National All-American in Freestyle and was consistently ranked inside the Top 20. Garrett was also nominated to serve as a member, and later as Vice President, of Princeton’s Varsity Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Before Princeton, Garrett attended Blair Academy, where he made the Headmaster’s List in each of his eight semesters for exceptional academic achievement. Additionally, Garrett was a three-time Prep National All-American, twice making the finals, and he served as a Captain of Blair Academy’s National Championship team in 2008-09. Since 2014, Garrett has served as an assistant coach and clinician at OMP Wrestling, which has locations in Etna and Evans City.

Garrett is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM and a Portfolio Analyst for BNY Mellon Wealth Management in Pittsburgh. Garrett currently resides in Shaler, but hopes to relocate to the Quaker Valley area. Garrett has no relation to House Frey from HBO’s Game of Thrones.
